Nope | Motion Key Art
To celebrate writer/director Jordan Peele’s first film shot with IMAX film cameras, we collaborated with the film studio and an external creative agency on an AV piece bringing the IMAX logo into the world of Nope to reflect the immersive quality of the film in IMAX. With a pre-release marketing campaign built around secrecy, we drew only from the visual clues and flashes of information in the teasers and trailers to create the barren desert of Haywood Ranch, the eerily happy inflatable tubes, and a mirrored finish on the IMAX logo that both mimics a mysterious character, and also reflects the sinister cloud at the center of the film.
The finished piece, paired with a studio-produced behind-the-scenes featurette on Peele’s use of IMAX film cameras and his work with fabled cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, made a splashy debut on geek website Collider.
